What do I need to pay and to whom?

For Student Accommodation Bookings, it’s absolutely free with your application! You simply have to submit the bond and 2 weeks deposit directly to the accommodation provider upon receiving your move-in offer.

For Real Estate Bookings, we charge a one-off application fee of $480, divided among all tenants.

For Private Rentals, we charge a one-off service fee equivalent to 10% of your monthly rent.

What does my rental fare cover?

Your monthly rent covers your rent, and for most accommodation listed with UniVoyage, it also covers all utilities bills including water, gas, electricity, and internet.

What happens if I cancel my booking?

For most accommodations listed on UniVoyage, there is a general 30 day cancellation policy. Check with each specific provider for exact terms and conditions. The UniVoyage team will also inform you the cancellation policy for each booking upon receiving your application.

Can I cancel my booking after moving in?

Each accommodation may have different terms and conditions, check with each provider before moving in.

What should I do after my booking has been paid and confirmed?

Simply get everything ready to move in on the chosen date and enjoy your stay!

What happens when I arrive at my new home?

On the day where you move in, your accommodation provider will be welcoming and greeting you upon your arrival. You will sign a rental agreement with your host, as well as submitting the remaining Deposit or First Month Rent if any. Start to know the place well, get a good rest, feel at home and enjoy your stay!

Can I ask friends to sleep over?

That you will have to ask your hosts. Most accommodation providers are generally pretty flexible and generous. They may agree to let your friends come over once in a while.

My parents or relatives might come and visit me, can they stay for a while?

A lot of our accommodation providers are able to accept short stays for visiting parents and relatives. We will let you know!

Can I visit the property before moving in?

Absolutely, simply let us know and we will book an inspection for you!

What is provided inside the house and my room?

Most properties are fully furnished. All essential furniture and electrical appliances are provided. These include fridge, oven, microwave, water kettle, washing machine, dining table, lounge, toilet and shower facilities. For every bedroom, it includes bed and mattress, a desk and chair.

For some Real Estate listings, furniture and appliances are not provided. But we will be able to assist you with arranging your furniture to make it feel at home!

Will I be sharing a room with others?

It depends on which room type you are staying at. Both single or shared livings are available.

Who are the other housemates?

The other housemates are just like you, who are all students who might be studying different courses or degrees. During your stay at your new home, UniVoyage will organize various social events, where you and your housemates are welcomed to join together to make you feel like a part of a big family. It’s always great to embrace a strong friendship with each other. You guys might even turn out to be best friends for life.

I need some help with airport pick up or drop off, as well as house moving, can UniVoyage help?

How do I become a host and receive bookings online?

To become a host and receive bookings online, simply follow our 4 steps below:

1. Create your host account online for free

2. Publish your property listing in your Host Dashboard

3. A UniVoyage staff will contact you to arrange a time to verify your listing

4. Once verified, your listing will be open to public online. Sit back, relax and wait for a booking to come through!

What is the booking procedure at UniVoyage?

A student makes a booking request online, you can then choose to either accept or decline the booking request within 48 hours. If you accept the booking, the student will receive a notification to confirm and pay for the booking within 24 hours. After confirming by the student, the booking is then completed and you shall welcome the student on the chosen move in date.

Who can become a host?

You are the owner of the property. We also prefer that you have got landlord insurance.

Do I have to live in the advertised place to become a host?

No, you can live anywhere and still become a host, as long as you are the owner of the listed property.

How to publish my listing on UniVoyage?

Once you’ve created your Host account online, you can start listing your property by simply clicking ‘List my place’!

Do I have to pay anything to become a host?

No, you don’t pay anything. It’s absolutely free to list your place for rent on our site. Good to know huh!

How do I know who my tenant is before accepting accepting booking?

When a student submits a booking, you will be able to see all information the tenant provided (name, gender, nationality, where they study, an introduction of themselves, etc.) within your Host Dashboard.

Can I list multiple rooms at once for my house?

Yes, absolutely. You can list one bedroom, multiple bedrooms, or the entire house.

What are the leasing terms?

We have three leasing options for you to choose from. You can either choose to lease for a period between 28 days to 6 month, 6 month, or 12 month.

What happens after the tenant has confirmed the booking?

After the tenant has confirmed the booking, he/she will be contacting you to arrange a time for moving in. The student has also paid 25% of first month to UniVoyage as a reservation fee of your place. We will transfer this amount to your nominated bank account 24 hours after the student moved in. You can also charge the student a Bond/Security Deposit upon moving in (less than one month rent), as well as the remaining 75% of first month rent).

Does the tenant sign the Rental Agreement with me?

Yes, the tenant will be signing the rental agreement with you on the day of his/her arrival. We can also provide you with a rental agreement template.

How does the tenant pay for the rent?

When the tenant arrives on the selected date, the tenant is required to submit the payment for the security deposit/bond and the monthly rent directly to the host. You may indicate a day for the tenant to submit the rent for every following month. For example, you may ask the tenant to submit the rent on the first day of every month.

How much can I charge for the rent?

We encourage you to charge a reasonable amount which is affordable for all students. We also encourage you to include all utility bills within the rent to make it easy and convenient for students. You are able to charge accordingly by including these bills.

Would UniVoyage help me with general house cleaning and maintenance?

Yes, UniVoyage is able to provide general house cleaning and maintenance services such as helping you with mowing the lawn, regular cleaning of common areas, and etc. with a minimum amount. Just contact us via email or online chat to arrange what you need.
